Remove the supervisor password (SVP)

We remove the existing supervisor password (SVP) from your Lenovo ThinkPad when the previous credentials are no longer available. You can then change protected BIOS settings and set up a new locking method supported by the device.

Preserve value

A locked ThinkPad does not have to end up as spare parts. Unlocking can make it possible to sell the complete device rather than dismantle it and sell the mainboard separately.

Enable reuse

After unlocking, you can configure the device for its next use: for yourself, another user or resale.

More use. Less electronic waste.

Our service removes supervisor passwords (SVP) and/or Certificate-Based BIOS Authentication (CBA) from devices you already own. We do not sell or buy notebooks or mainboards through this offer. MDM / Intune and Absolute / Computrace are separate, experimental additional services. Windows passwords, BitLocker and drive locks are not included.

Want to know when the UEFI / BIOS password was set? On request, we can check whether the device and available information allow us to establish the timing. Contact

Remove Certificate-Based BIOS Authentication (CBA)

Including CBA with a QR-code prompt.

Our service also covers ThinkPads that require certificate-based UEFI / BIOS authentication instead of a supervisor password. We remove both SVP and CBA locks.

All ThinkPad series

Whether X1, P1, T14 or a model from the E or L series, we assess enquiries for every ThinkPad family. You can also enquire about models not listed in the device finder. We check the options for your specific device.

Unlocking for detached mainboards

You can also send a detached ThinkPad mainboard. We agree the model, lock type, power-on condition and required test components beforehand. Use ESD protection and secure packaging.
