A BIOS lock can make one notebook unusable or prevent an entire fleet from being used. These cases come from our service experience. They describe real orders; the customers remain anonymous.

More than 50 mainboards for repair centres

We have worked on more than 50 mainboards for established repair centres. Our unlocking service complements their repairs, allowing locked boards to be checked and prepared for reuse.

This partnership lets repair businesses take on orders even when they do not have a suitable unlocking method themselves. They remain their customers’ point of contact; we handle the specialist unlocking work by arrangement. This extends the service they can offer without having to turn away devices simply because they are locked.

For these orders, we agree quantities, condition and scope beforehand. Repair partners deal with us directly, including when several devices or detached boards are sent together. Our device batches and single devices guide explains how to plan such work.

More than eight business devices in one week

A business encountered a BIOS password whose origin could not be explained. According to the customer, neither the manufacturer, the supplier nor its internal IT team could establish how it had been set.

The affected ThinkPads displayed 0183: Bad CRC of Security Settings in EFI Variable and could no longer be used – Windows would not start either. These devices had previously been in regular, productive use, making a timely solution important.

We reliably unlocked more than eight devices within one week. They could then be used in the business again. How the original password came to be set on these systems remains unexplained.

Unlocked on site, on the same day

Two orders called for on-site unlocking within an agreed time window. Detailed coordination and preparation by the clients allowed us to unlock a handful of devices on the same day on each occasion.

We plan these visits individually. If you need work completed within a particular time frame, ask about our express service. We assess the devices and scope before confirming whether an on-site visit is possible and what completion time we can commit to.

Sweden–Germany–Sweden in five days

A medium-sized business in Sweden had bought a ThinkPad from a dealer. A BIOS lock prevented its intended use.

The entire process took five days, from dispatch in Sweden through unlocking in Germany to delivery back to the customer. The customer was very satisfied with the result and the handling of the order.

This total duration describes that specific order. We agree transport arrangements, device condition and scope individually for each new enquiry.
